I am afraid that I am in a venting mood today. The happenings of last night and this morning can be profoundly summed up in one work. FUCK! That being said, I was not in a very happy state earlier. So here is how it all went down...
Last night my husband decided to have us go look at new cars. We went to a Hyundai dealer at aabout 6 in the evening. After test driving two vehicles, we decided it might be a good thing to take advantage of the "cash for clunkers" deal, so we agreed to give up the silver Caravan for a new Elantra. So far, not so bad.
So we completed the paper work, signed my life away on what seemed like dozens of forms, only to be informed that my name on the title of the Caravan was different the name on my driver's license. My middle name initial is on my driver's license, my maiden name initial is on the title. This means, the government will not honor the clunker deal since the names did not match excatly. Their suggestion at the dealers was to get a new license with no initial. The government will ok that when one uses it along with the title having an initial.
After three hours at the dealer, we went home around 9.
This brings us to today. We were at the BMV at 8 in the morning, number 11 in line. My turn. They have to call Columbus to see if removing my initial is ok. Finally, that was approved. Now I get a new picture, pay another $24.50, having just renewed my license LAST WEEK. New picture, not as good as last week, forgot my earrings, face looking redder than I like.
Now, that does not seem so bad, I guess, but I thought we would be going home to clean out the car of the junk inside, get some breakfast, as I had only time for part of a cup of coffee, and I would go to the bank, and the store for milk, etc. No dice.
Instead, we took the doomed Caravan to the BMV. Then we went to the dealer to get the new car.
Now, I was to be going to lunch with my friend and then to a movie, meeting at 11:45. I did manage to do this on time by some miracle.
We got the car after waiting for it to be fueled and plates put on and insurance to be rectified. Then to the bank, to the store, back home and off to my friend. Breakfast, or rather, lunch, at about noon. At least I got a coffee at the dealers to tide me over.
So now I am more mellow. I think a nice drink tonight might be in the works, though.
Enough for today.
