Wow, it has been quite a while since I wrote on this. In that time some good things have happened and some bad things, too. First, the good: Colin and Jennifer got married on October 3, 2009. Then, on October 10, Amanda and JD were engaged! They hope to marry sometime in March, 2011. They both will graduate Law School at the end of May, 2010.
Also, Larry and I took a driving vacation to Burlington, NC to visit our granddaughter and great-granddaughter. We then went to The Villages to visit my friend, Elaine and her husband Jim. Then on to Pensacola to visti Larry's cousin, Lee, or Freda, as she is called by her friends there. Her true first name is Freda but we have always called her Lee, which is her middle name. Then, we drove to Nashville and had dinner with my cousin Jack and his wife, Rosa and their son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter.. We then visited two distilleries on the way home. It was a lovely trip.
The bad news was that I had to have a complete hysterectomy when uterine cance was discovered. It was half way into the uterine wall, so that meant I had to undergo 25 external radiation treatments and three internal radiation treatments as a precaution. But the good news is, that is went well and things look good and I am feeling a whole lot better!
another good thing that happened this past fall was a driving trip to NY. Larry and I went to see the play, A Steady Rain, with Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig. We saw it twice and I got to get a hug from Hugh and I kissed him on the neck. I got a big bear hug and kiss on the cheek from Daniel and I kissed his cheek, too.l I also shook hands with Hugh. Both men were delightful and friendly. Hugh is very tall and more handsome in real life even then in movies. So, things are good. Oh, we went three and a half weeks after my surgery, so that was wild. We also saw Hair and The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway, too. I would go back there in a minute, it was so much fun, even if I was truly in no good shape to do a whole lot.
We also went to outside of the Today show and saw Hoda and Cathy-Lee Gifford and Kellan Lutz from Twilight. I can't think of the girl that was on with him, but she was from Twilight , too.
Well, since then, we have gone to Colin's for Christmas, which was very nice, and had Colin, Jen, Amanda, JD and my side of the family over for Easter, as well as Larry's mom. It was so very nice to have everyone here. I love them all!
Well, that is enough for now. Later, gater!

My first memory was of living at my Grandmother's house--- my Father's mother. I was ab0ut three or four years old and it was spring or summer. My dad was talking to a neighbor, and I was to take a nap in an old army hammock, the kind that was all enclosed with a net screen that zipped. I was all for this until I noticaed a bug, probably a fly, in the hammock with me. I have always had a fear of bugs. I remember screaming to my Mother that I wanted out and she was trying to shush me because of the neighbor there. She finally relented and opened the hammock, but that is the end of that memory.
Another time I can remember standing at the back door of the house, pounding on the door screaming to get in saying, "There are bugs out here".
Another memory is of being ill, measles, I think, at Easter one year, and my Grandfather, this time my Mothers father, coming to visit at my Grandmother's and bringing a chocolate bunny for me. It was in the evening, I believe.
And yet another time I can remember looking out the front window and watching people acaross the street near the corner.
Odd how one just recalls things sometimes!

I am afraid that I am in a venting mood today. The happenings of last night and this morning can be profoundly summed up in one work. FUCK! That being said, I was not in a very happy state earlier. So here is how it all went down...
Last night my husband decided to have us go look at new cars. We went to a Hyundai dealer at aabout 6 in the evening. After test driving two vehicles, we decided it might be a good thing to take advantage of the "cash for clunkers" deal, so we agreed to give up the silver Caravan for a new Elantra. So far, not so bad.
So we completed the paper work, signed my life away on what seemed like dozens of forms, only to be informed that my name on the title of the Caravan was different the name on my driver's license. My middle name initial is on my driver's license, my maiden name initial is on the title. This means, the government will not honor the clunker deal since the names did not match excatly. Their suggestion at the dealers was to get a new license with no initial. The government will ok that when one uses it along with the title having an initial.
After three hours at the dealer, we went home around 9.
This brings us to today. We were at the BMV at 8 in the morning, number 11 in line. My turn. They have to call Columbus to see if removing my initial is ok. Finally, that was approved. Now I get a new picture, pay another $24.50, having just renewed my license LAST WEEK. New picture, not as good as last week, forgot my earrings, face looking redder than I like.
Now, that does not seem so bad, I guess, but I thought we would be going home to clean out the car of the junk inside, get some breakfast, as I had only time for part of a cup of coffee, and I would go to the bank, and the store for milk, etc. No dice.
Instead, we took the doomed Caravan to the BMV. Then we went to the dealer to get the new car.
Now, I was to be going to lunch with my friend and then to a movie, meeting at 11:45. I did manage to do this on time by some miracle.
We got the car after waiting for it to be fueled and plates put on and insurance to be rectified. Then to the bank, to the store, back home and off to my friend. Breakfast, or rather, lunch, at about noon. At least I got a coffee at the dealers to tide me over.
So now I am more mellow. I think a nice drink tonight might be in the works, though.
Enough for today.

Waiting for Tickets
I am frustrated. My tickets to A Steady Rain have not been printed yet. They say about 4 weeks from ordering them is needed . It has only been two weeks. I am always nervous until I have things like this in my hands. Rats!
On a better note, I am looking forward to seeing my daughter soon. I am also looking forward to seeing some places i have not seen before. I am not being specific. This is just putting some thoughts into written words. Nothing profound tonight. As I stated before, just musings.

Getting Started
So my daughter wanted me to start a blog. Being a good Mom, I have ventured out to the world of word and created one, finally. Now I have to think of things to say. Shall I be profound and wax upon the ideals of society, etc, etc? Or, perhaps, just muse on everyday happenings. I will have to ponder this. In the meantime, at least I have begun this writing process, for better or worse.
