Recent events

Wow, it has been quite a while since I wrote on this. In that time some good things have happened and some bad things, too. First, the good: Colin and Jennifer got married on October 3, 2009. Then, on October 10, Amanda and JD were engaged! They hope to marry sometime in March, 2011. They both will graduate Law School at the end of May, 2010.

Also, Larry and I took a driving vacation to Burlington, NC to visit our granddaughter and great-granddaughter. We then went to The Villages to visit my friend, Elaine and her husband Jim. Then on to Pensacola to visti Larry's cousin, Lee, or Freda, as she is called by her friends there. Her true first name is Freda but we have always called her Lee, which is her middle name. Then, we drove to Nashville and had dinner with my cousin Jack and his wife, Rosa and their son, daughter-in-law and granddaughter.. We then visited two distilleries on the way home. It was a lovely trip.

The bad news was that I had to have a complete hysterectomy when uterine cance was discovered. It was half way into the uterine wall, so that meant I had to undergo 25 external radiation treatments and three internal radiation treatments as a precaution. But the good news is, that is went well and things look good and I am feeling a whole lot better!

another good thing that happened this past fall was a driving trip to NY. Larry and I went to see the play, A Steady Rain, with Hugh Jackman and Daniel Craig. We saw it twice and I got to get a hug from Hugh and I kissed him on the neck. I got a big bear hug and kiss on the cheek from Daniel and I kissed his cheek, too.l I also shook hands with Hugh. Both men were delightful and friendly. Hugh is very tall and more handsome in real life even then in movies. So, things are good. Oh, we went three and a half weeks after my surgery, so that was wild. We also saw Hair and The Phantom of the Opera on Broadway, too. I would go back there in a minute, it was so much fun, even if I was truly in no good shape to do a whole lot.

We also went to outside of the Today show and saw Hoda and Cathy-Lee Gifford and Kellan Lutz from Twilight. I can't think of the girl that was on with him, but she was from Twilight , too.

Well, since then, we have gone to Colin's for Christmas, which was very nice, and had Colin, Jen, Amanda, JD and my side of the family over for Easter, as well as Larry's mom. It was so very nice to have everyone here. I love them all!

Well, that is enough for now. Later, gater!
